NN Academy's first edition of the workshop ‘Insight into your pension’ was held on 18 April. The initiative followed from the desire of the employer, NN Group, and the pension funds, NN CDC Pensioenfonds and Pensioenfonds ING, to help employees understand their pension with the aid of the Pension Planner. One of the workshop participants commented: ‘I never thought it would be so easy, nor did I realise we had such a good pension plan.’
Employees of NN Group who want out find out more about their pension situation but have not yet taken the time to look into this can now sign up for the workshop ‘Insight into your pension’. Participants learn more about topics including Dutch state pension (AOW), basic pension terminology, our company’s pension plans and life events that affect their pension. They are also given step-by-step instructions on how to use the Pension Planner.
‘I spent some time practicing, and it has given me more assurance about my future.’
Insight into pension situation and choices
At the end of the workshop, participants have gained insight into their pension situation and the choices they can make in this respect. More specifically, they learn:
- How to determine their Dutch state pension (AOW) age.
- About the main features of NN CDC Pensioenfonds and, if applicable, Pensioenfonds ING.
- Which life events are relevant to their pension.
- How to determine whether their total expected retirement income (including AOW) will meet their future needs.
- How to make calculations with the help of the Pension Planner.
‘I’ve discovered that the Pension Planner is an excellent tool that covers a wide range of choices and scenarios.’

Employees interested in the workshop can sign up via MyLearn in SAM. As soon as at least six candidates have signed up, NN Academy will schedule new workshops and the employees will receive an invitation to take part.
