Professional experience
Sandra has a wealth of professional experience. She has been working at NN since 2010, in positions varying from CFO retail to CFO/CRO retail and, over the past four years, CFO of NN Bank. Before that, she also held positions in the fields of finance, accounting, actuarial and risk, at Postbank, ING, RVS and WestlandUtrecht Bank.
Areas of focus
Sandra’s areas of focus at the CDC pension funds are finance, risk and investments. She focuses on “Carrying out the policies in light of all the challenges of pension and a new pension system, and being in control in terms of finance and risk.”
Challenges
Sandra sees lots of challenges. “The pension system is set to change. We must cope with rising life expectancy in the Netherlands and the impact that has on affordable pensions. We must restore the funding ratio in order to re-enable pension rises in line with inflation. None of these things are certain.” She’ll be satisfied if the board deals with these challenges through good governance of the pension funds and good interaction with participants and other stakeholders.
The board is happy to welcome Sandra as one of its members and wishes her all the best in executing her fund duties.
