Mensen schatten hun AOW-leeftijd veel te optimistisch in. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van het Nederlands Interdisciplinair Demografisch Instituut (Nidi).

Dat komt onder andere omdat ze vaker in deeltijd werken. Bovendien hebben ze minder interesse in financiën. Gebeurtenissen zoals een scheiding of overlijden kunnen grote gevolgen hebben op hun pensioen.

Nederlanders die met pensioen gaan zijn minder pessimistisch over hun toekomstige levensstandaard dan het Europees gemiddelde. Dat blijkt uit een internationale enquête van ING waaraan vijftienduizend mensen uit vijftien verschillende landen hebben deelgenomen.
